Editorial Guidelines

We are looking to commission longform music criticism and feature journalism from women and non-binary writers. These pieces will be for both our site / monthly newsletter and our print magazine, due out in November 2018.

We are interested in publishing unique, thought-provoking stories - these could be investigations into subcultures, interviews with interesting music figures, retelling of music histories that have faded into obscurity, or haven’t been told at all. We’re after anything clever, sharp and original.

At Gusher, we cover music that is independent and/or embodies the punk ethos. Before pitching, please have a look at previous issues to get a feel for the kind of artists and stories we cover.

We do not publish album or live music reviews.

All commissions are paid, and rates depend on length and scope of piece.
